This is my black 1997 Camaro with the 3.8L Series II V6. I bought it with an SLP intake and a Borla cat back in March of 2007. I have put in a lot of blood and sweat into this car and it never lets me down. It was unofficially a “Z29” but I took those decals off. This car has come a long way in the way of modifications. I thought this would just keep me occupied until I could buy something more powerful, but I want to make this powerful. I’ve wanted to make it look stock but with some twists to make it my own. I love this car.

I installed my short throw shifter today and it was a piece of cake. If anyone is looking to buy one I highly recommend it. It really makes driving a camaro much more fun. The shifts are firmer and it just feels better all around.

Started the day with a rear end fluid change. Many puns when talking about my rear end and fluid coming out of it. (It was my mom's fault) That part of the operation was pretty easy. Just unbolt the cover, then let stuff spew out, then gawk at the gears and stuff, then refill with Royal Purple fluid. Next my dad and I outsmarted the fuel filter. It took a little longer than I thought but it came out and so did a cup or two of gas onto the floor. Then since I was on a roll and nothing broke yet I decided to change the transmission fluid. That was a piece of cake except for it dripping everywhere down my arm. I also changed the oil while I was in there. I gotta say my car is happier because all the major fluids are new.

Wow the stock two piece was a pain in the butt to take out. I thought it would be easy but, nooooooo it couldn't. All of the bolts were on there really tight. Me and my dad eventually got everything taken care of. The new driveshaft from a LS1 camaro went in very very easily. Bolted everything right up, tested it out, and no scary vibrations or wobbles.
