Picked up this Camaro in Sept. 2005 as my daily driver. Have been repairing and upgrading it ever since.

A couple weeks ago I cut up a piece of sheet metal to make a closed insert for my Borla adjustable exhaust. The car sounds much better, much more tolerable noise levels, but still has a nice throaty sound under acceleration. Turns out the last insert plate deteriorated under the heat of the exhaust and disintegrated resulting in my driving around with what was essentially a straight pipe.
Finally picked up some cheap replacement brake parts for the front end last week. Just blank rotors and pads from the discount store. Just in time too. The wear indicator started with the squeakin' two days ago.
Replaced the pads and rotors yesterday, and almost couldn't get the freaking rotors off, they were rusted on so badly. Was going to replace the hub/bearing assembly on both sides as well, but they would NOT come off, short of using a stick of dynamite.
I bought the hubs unfortunately, so now I might go to the discount mechanic to see if he can make it happen. The car has over 280,000km on it and as far as I know they're original, so it's only a matter of time before they need replacement I'm sure.
Oh, also installed my UMI 35mm front swaybar. Awesome product. Heavy, but awesome. Body roll when cornering and turning has been reduced drastically. Very cool result, and the mod itself was fairly easy.

Well, the inner tie rods and outer tie rod ends have been replaced. My alignment was so terrible afterward I couldn't even drive the car! Had it towed to a shop I THOUGHT was still open on Sundays. Long story short, after a rental and an unnecessary trip or two, I have my car back and the steering is much better.
While I was at it I had the wheels re-balanced. I'm told they're "hopping" and that the tires need to be replaced. Not this season, that's for sure. I don't have another grand on me at the moment. Still the balancing did help. The car is tracking better than it has in a long time.
Also got around to purchasing and installing front speakers. Went with the Alpine Type S 6.5". They sound much better than the old stockers and there's no more death rattle above a certain volume. Still getting a slight buzz from the speaker grilles now that the door panels are back on. Need to do some more tinkering one of these days, but overall, quite pleased at the moment.

Just recently refreshed my air filters and noticed the car seems to be cruising at lower RPMs. I imagine the engine isn't working as hard now that it doesn't have to suck air through dirty filters.
Also found my one and only Snap-On wrench and tightened the header bolts on my headers. Car sounded better right away. Still have a small exhaust leak from where the back bolt on the passenger side broke off in the block, but it's barely noticeable now, especially with the louder exhaust.
Also pulled off my passenger door panel to take a look at my rattling speakers. Probably going to replace my stock front speakers with Alpine Type S units. Nothing too fancy, just want the car to sound decent again.
This weekend the plan is to replace the tie rods and out tie rod ends. Hopefully all will go well and I'll have some semblance of reliable steering back again. It's been really sloppy for the last while.

The LT1 is well! Definitely works good, no regrets with getting the LT1!
Try a large sledgehammer on those hubs with lots of PB Blaster, or an acetylene torch and a large sledge (quickly). I had some issues removing one of mine, but nothing the Sledge Hammer of Doom couldn't take care of.
Still a nice ride and I gave you another 15 stars to get your ratings up, If you have a chance I would appreciate you rating and commenting on mine again, Thanks
Hello
Quite a list up there. The car looks good though! I ranked ya. Thanks for all your advice. You've been a great help. Lookin forward to posting with you and chatting on FT.
anything but fram lol K&N gold never did me wrong but there kinda expensive. fram is really the only filter ive heard problems with, ad either have been they come w/o the rubber seal, come with 2 so it leaks through them, clogs up with in an hr of run
looks good, and if u want to keep it running toss the FRAM oil filter quick, ive had personal exp as well as buddys tell me they are total sh!t now. I went through 3 on a truck of mine before i figured out it was the filter causeing the engine to crap out
Very nice ride,,,, just wanted to let you know I rated your car ..15 stars for ya .. Now will you please rate mine ... thanks
Sweet Camaro!
Nice ride!
