This was my very first car. I purchased it for $1200 cash when I turned 15, from working at McDonalds. It started out as a rust-bucket Rallye green car with white Z28 stripes on it, with a light green vinyl interior. Also had the ever-popular "slotted mag" wheels on it when I bought it. Pretty ugly! I spent a full year doing body work on the car, and my Dad and I would hit all the swap meets to find parts for it. They didn't have the internet back in 1988. We rebuilt the engine, replaced the entire interior with black instead of green, and had the car painted red with black stripes. When I turned 16, the car was completed with a budget of less than $4000 total. I drove the car all thru high school, and for 1 year in college. Then I had to sell it for an econobox because it only got 9 mpg and I drove 85 miles per day.
