About this Current Vehicle:

This is my new build project for Camaro Performers Magazine. Going for a more affordable version of my orange Camaro and I'm also shooting for a unique look and a good street performer.

The car will be shot in a satin steel blue paint and there will be no chrome trim. The hood and front panels will be true carbon fiber and the stripes will be left bare except for a coating of flat clear. The Grand Sport stipe is nice racing cue and will be painted in blood red satin from Hot Rod Flatz.

The engine will be some varient of a 5.3L aluminum mill that I'm working with Turn Key Engine Supply on. The trans will be a manual. To hit my budget goals the front suspension will be a modified factory subframe. Won't skimp on the wheels though since they can make or break the car, so Forgline rollers wrapped in Toyo R888 rubber will be on all the corners.

The fenders will also carry the Track Rat tatoos.

Right now the car is a mess, but we've started on the bodywork and hope to make some good progress.

The CF panels are in house and we are making progress on the bodywork. At some point it will start looking good. Right now it just looks like a lot of work....

Factory Options:

rust, bondo, bad bodywork --- but we will fix all of that.

Exterior Modifications:

Aluminum rear wing. Adjustable and functional.

Interior Modifications:

Simple, Precision Coachworks stainless Tigercage, Flofit seats off of Ebay, gauges by Classic Instruments.

Performance:

We just built the 5.3L LS engine and it put out:

491 hp at 6300 rpm
444 tq at 4700 rpm

parts:

5.3 block aluminum (doesn't really matter if it's iron)
4.8 flat top pistons
5.3 rods - ARP rod bolts
5.3 crank
LS2 timing chain on 5.3 sprockets
LS2 intake/injectors/fuel rail (modified by Turn Key)
90mm Turn Key throttle body
220/224 112 LSA Trick Flow cam (.575 lift)
Trick Flow 205 CNC ported heads (assembled)
Harland Sharp pedestal mount rockers
Trick Flow 7.500 chromemoly pushrods

Suspension/Chassis:

CA Chassisworks front subframe with g-machine control arms. Rear will have FAB 9 housing with g-bar four link.

Drivetrain:

5.3 liter all almuminum LS engine built by Turn Key Engine Supply.

Transmissing Tremec T56 Magnum (TR6060) but Classic Motorsports Group..

Electronics:

ISIS Multiplexing electrical system

To-Do List:

EVERYTHING! lol

Looking good. I've been watching this project since the first rendering was published in Camaro Performers a while back. Burnout Did you have Bad Penny @ SEMA this year?

Yea, I want to see it done too..

It was put on hold until after SEMA 08 so that I can get my orange Camaro ready to do some track duty.

Now that the quarter is on it should more along faster.
