About this Current Vehicle:

I just hauled this thing home this morning. The wife and I went to look at a house for sale, and this was in the weeds next to the driveway. I recognized it as a Healey 3000 . I got the owner's number from the attendant and called him to see if he would sell. That was Sunday. Today is Wednesday and it's sitting in my driveway under a cover.

I have had several people call this the LS-6 of British sports cars. It is very rare and the most desirable of the 3000s, more desirable than the XKE roadsters. I think they only produced 6000 or so in three years, and only a portion of those were exported to the US.

I don't know too much about this car yet, but I'm going to dig into it and take some more pictures.

I've done some more research. It's a 1964 model, built in late 1963. It's a 3000 Mk III Phase 1. 149 hp straight six.

Factory Options:

I have no idea

Exterior Modifications:

extra rust

Interior Modifications:

all the parts that have come off the exterior!

Performance:

These cars were light (2200 lbs) and had 165 hp. Not smoking fast but for a small roadster not bad.

Suspension/Chassis:

small

Drivetrain:

rusty

Electronics:

Lucas electrics, need I say more?

To-Do List:

N/A

Thanks sandu. I have always admired the styling of the big Healeys (big being a relative tern - I think my 69 is wider than this is long lol. Actually, I think they are refering to the engine when they say it's big). I might have to let this one go i

I can remember in my younger days when having one of these was my dream and it never happened. Good luck with the restoration.
