Telling the scammers to show some love.

Here's a good note to start your weekend on. Know the nigerian scammers that try to rip us Americans off? Well, this one got tricked to make a banner to show some love for the church of Camaros.
I thought you guys would enjoy this. One of my little hobbies is scam baiting. Most of the scammers are from Nigeria, and essentially you trick scammers into falling for your scam! I won't get into much detail but you can read more about it here:
www.419eater.com
Anyways with this guy I told him that I'm a pastor of a church. If he joined my church we could donate $10,000 US to him in charity. It's taken about a month of trust building with him but I finally got him to make a banner so he can join my church and claim his charity.
For supposedly living on the streets, he sure does dress nicely and own a nice camera!
Too funny!
A LS1 finds a new home every month it seems.

One way to make your older Porsche 911 unique: Throw in a blown LS1 engine. The wing actually acts as the radiator in this creation which boasts "the slower you go, the cooler it gets". Have fun changing the plugs!

I'm sure many of you followed the build of the LS1Tech Camaro, "Project Pinkenstein", that we at FQuick sponsored last year. Due to disagreements between the TV staff of "Pinks" and those backing the LS1Tech car, the car never made it on the air but it still got some time in the spotlight.
The Camaro was trailered down to the dragstrip in Memphis and raced at the first ever LSX Shootout and ended the year at GLD in Wisconsin with a 10.9 motor pass and just missed hitting 9's with nitrous by just a smidge (10.008).
A full write-up on the build can be found in the April Issue of GM High-Tech Performance Magazine. Most book stores should carry it - I got my copy at Barnes & Nobles.

With its curbweight at 2700 pounds WITH the driver in the car, you have to feel bad for that body - it's going to be flexing more than Hulk Hogan in his hay days. It put down around 350 at the rear wheels. Rear wheels, you say? Yep, certain old Celicas were rear-wheel drive.
Believe it or not NO cutting was required besides the driver-side long tube being modified a bit. Other than that, it fit right in.

FQuick staff just arrived home from a drama-filled weekend that happened in Kansas City with the LS1Tech Pinks Camaro.
FQuick has no place to discus either side as we were never a part of the planning, building of the car, nor the negotiations, paperwork or contracts that were written. For a full heated discussion, a
thread on ls1tech covers the long-winded details.
FQuick, however, still had a blast joining the LS1Tech crew and we look forward to seeing it run at the LSX Shootout in October. More information on that event in the very near future!
A bonus picture of the traveling van along with two shots of the Camaro at an Iowa gas station. You can also enjoy seeing a
prank go down on our way there, with Pro Stock John and the radar gun that the FQuick staff snuck onboard.

As mentioned earlier in the week, TORQ Radio interviewed ProStockJohn about his PINKS car for the upcoming match up with a rival mustang. Oh, and of course they express the love they have for this site which is always appreciated.

It's getting down to the wire with the airing of the Pinks episode starring the LS1Tech Camaro. In this video, we get to see the car pilot do a few rips on the street. Of course, this was done on a closed course and all precautions were taken. Sorry for the darkness/grainy video, it was shot at night around midnight. Enjoy!

One of our very own members,
TXjeepTJ, has an awesome swap that is worth sharing. LS1's appear in everything from the ordinary F-Body and Y-Body, to RX-7s, 240SX, and S10s. How abut a Jeep TJ?
Fitting nice and snug, an LS1 made its way in the TJ's engine bay. The donor was courtesy of a 2000 Camaro SS which went through a large puddle, hydrolocking the motor. The motor was built and the conversion began. A built 4L60E transmission, along with a shift kit, help power the beast. Can't wait to see how this beast weight transfers!

LS1Tech's co-owner,
ProStockJohn, was nice enough to give us a video update on the latest additions of the Pinks Camaro racecar. In this video, he walks around Speed Inc's shop and shows off the beefy cam that was just installed. Enjoy the third video installment on the car!

The good folks at GM High-Tech Performance Magazine, LS1Tech.com and Fastest Street Car are bringing a kick ass event come this October.
GM Performance Parts has announced an LSX True Street Challenge that will double the purse and give a custom winners jacket to all LS-powered cars that win a category in NMCA’s popular True Street class at the GM Performance Parts LSX Shootout held Oct. 11-14, 2007, at Memphis Motorsport Park. Furthermore, if the overall fastest True Street competitor is in an LS-powered vehicle, GM Performance Parts will double the purse, provide a custom winners jacket and give away an LSX Bow-Tie block valued at over $3,000!
Knowing that there are thousands of potential “true” street competitors with LS-powered combinations that want to participate in the LSX Shootout, GM Performance Parts has decided to provide some serious cash and prizes. True Street cars can range from mild (13, 14 or 15 seconds) to wild (9, 10, 11, 12 seconds).
Bring any LS-powered car out and prove that it runs as good as it dynos on the internet. This is your opportunity to get excellent magazine exposure and see some of the baddest LSX powered cars in the country.

For those who aren't in the know, LS1Tech.com will be racing in an upcoming episode of the drag racing show Pinks on Speed.
In this video,
ProStockJohn (co-owner of LS1Tech.com) took the car by Wrigley Field in downtown Chicago to show the car off with all of the sponsor stickers in place. Damn, even FQuick got in on the sticker action!
Be sure to check back, maybe we'll have some extra news on this bad boy before the episode airs later this year.

Love the show or hate it, an awesome match-up is going to be filmed later this summer between the popular LS1 enthusiast website, LS1Tech, and a mustang enthusiast website, Blue Oval Corral. An F-Body and Mustang will be getting down the 1320' and whoever loses will lose their ride.
Only details that we know right now is that LS1tech will be running a a 2000 Z28. So far, the suspension will be setup with UMI Performance parts and the rear-end will be a Ford 9" from Driveline Solutions.
For more information, be sure to watch this thread on LS1tech's website:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=692446
The show will air during the fifth season. Be sure to stay tuned!
