Leaked: Possible Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2
The cat would appear to be out of the bag for the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2, as what certainly look to be official photos of the newest bull have hit the web. Details are sketchy, but Lamborghini's naming scheme keeps no secrets. Assuming this is all on the level, expect 550 horsepower from the V10 mounted aft of the cockpit, with that power going to the rear wheels exclusively. The lack of AWD should also result in some weight loss, a welcome addition in any sports car, much less a Lamborghini making this kind of power. And yes, that's a ball-topped gated shifter in the interior photo featured in the gallery. Glorious.

Now this would be an absolute rush!

Resorting to the ever popular "supercar in the snow" theme, the U.K. TV program Fifth Gear recently headed out to the Italian Alps to see what a powerful lime green Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 could do in cold conditions.

Tiff Needell tested the Italian beast with traction control turned on and off, pronouncing the latter much more fun to drive than when ESP is activated. Needell also explained how the traction control limits the throttle and "makes the car near to crashproof as you can get."

Lamborghini Gallardo and trailer with custom bike
Recently spotted in Miami Beach, this Lamborghini Gallardo stood out a bit more than the others Lambos that cruise the strp. A yellow Lambo badged chopper in a custom trailer was attached for people to gawk at and wonder why. We, too, wonder why. It seems attaching trailers to your sports cars is the new thing to do.

2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4: Facelift Model

2009 Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4: Facelift Model
Making its worldwide premiere in Geneva, Lamborghini’s facelifted Gallardo features a series of styling and mechanical updates including a more powerful V10 engine. Design-wise, the all-wheel-drive coupe from Sant’Agata stands out thanks to the more aggressively styled front and rear-ends that give the Gallardo LP560-4 a menacing new look.

Looks however are only half the story on the 2009 Gallardo LP560-4 as Lamborghini upgraded the 5.2-liter V10 engine that now develops 560 Hp at 8,000 rpm. The increase of 40 Hp compared with that of the previous Gallardo, and the approximate 20 kg or 44 lbs reduction in weight, improves the power weight ratio to 2.5 kg per Hp and thus enhances performance. According to Lambo, the LP560-4 accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 sec; its speed at 11.8 sec is 200 km/h (124 mph) while its top speed lies at 325 km/h or 202 mph. At the same time, fuel consumption and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 18 per cent.

Additionally, Lamborghini's engineers have also redesigned the four-wheel drive transmission and the suspension improving traction, handling and stability at high speeds.

Mustardo: Ford Mustang Equipped With Gallardo V10
The Tractorri Lamborghini Mustang, or Mustardo, made its appearance at the 2007 SEMA Show earlier this month. John Haugh of Cleveland, Ohio built this custom creation starting with a new Lamborghini Gallardo and a new Mustang.

Underneath its modified Ford Mustang body, the Mustardo is equipped with the Gallardo’s mid-engined all-wheel drive powertrain meaning that this creation gets a 520 HP V10 engine and sequential shifting transmission. The rear end of the car has been designed to imitate the Gallardo and it features a huge honeycomb mesh venting which allows us to get a peek of the Mustardo’s hardware. Amazingly, Haugh also completely redecorated the interior to look like the Gallardo’s cabin.

According to the guys at “The Mustang News”, Haugh plans to drive the Mustardo regularly.

One Way to Ruin Your Lamborghini

One Way to Ruin Your Lamborghini
What's a good way to lose resale value? Paint your Lamborghini like the one pictured. I guess owning an exotic and rare car wasn't enough, so the next best thing is to get an extremely gaudy paint-job to attract attention. No doubt it's well-done, but hi: it's called going to an art store and buying a canvas. Ugh, some people shouldn't be allowed to buy these cars.

Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera vs Ducati 1098

Tags: fifth gear, lamborghini, gallardo superleggera, ducati 1098, exotic, other

The ultimate race. The lightweight Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, less weight and more power than it's sibling, takes on one of the fastest bikes in production - the Ducati 1098. Two small competitions and then the final hoorah of a race where you can pretty much guess the winner.

Bottom 11's in a Gallardo

A Florida based tuner created this video to give their twin turbo 709 wheel horsepower Lamborghini Gallardo some publicity. They have their Gallardo take on the 580 Hp Murcielago. Of course the Gallardo wins but with AWD and 700+ hp it only had an 11.05 sec e/t. I think we've got some guys here who'd like to race.

In Canada an exotic sports car dealer has been arrested after police watched a video that showed him driving three times over the legal limit. The video featured Zahir Rana, the owner of ZR Auto, and three of his friends driving a Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Gallardo, a Ferrari 360 and F430. In one shot his Ferrari Enzo was doing 210 mph and all cars reached over 186 mph. The three friends were also arrested. They claim that the video was faked for the purpose of viral marketing and isn’t factual.

Vallet Driver Takes Gallardo For a Test Spin

Tags: valet, gallardo, other

Vallet Driver Takes Gallardo For a Test SpinYou know that paranoia that you feel when you hand over your keys to a valet? That paranoia was a valid fear recently for the owner of a Lamborghini Gallardo. After the Lambo owner was out of eye-shot the valet driver got in, reved it up and took off. Fortunately he didn't wrap it around a tree because 15 minutes after he was back in the lot the owner returned and went straight for the motor to feel for warmth. The valet driver fessed up, comped the $22 valet bill, and will live to jockey cars another day.
