Cadillac STS and DTS Officially Axed

Cadillac's general manager, Jim Taylor, finally put the rumors to rest and announced that both the STS and DTS will not be making an appearance in next year's line.

Instead, a new entry-level model, designed to slot in below the CTS, is a distinct possibility. Both execs feel that Cadillac's brand image could sustain such a vehicle, likely to be priced in the $28,00 to $32,000 range.

How the fuck does this make any sense? They keep the XLR and the SRX but not the STS?

Now DTS I can see, but the STS as well? Especially when the STS shares the CTS platform.

Now a Eldorado (2 Door CTS) sold as a ETC or CTC would be neat.

Hmm, let me clear this up a little...

Both the DTS and STS will be sold in 2008, that is for sure (look at Cadillac's website), and in fact the STS has a whole bunch of upgrades for 2008, including a new 304hp V6.

But eventually, there will be one car to replace the two of them. Probably MY2010 (I'm guessing).

The new entry-level car below CTS has nothing to do with this, and does not replace the STS or DTS.

Also, don't forget that there is a CTS Coupe and a CTS Wagon on the horizon.
