Can't wait to see that thing without its cloths hahaha
From what I can tell it has quite a few ques from the Guigiaro Mustang- which is awesome I think. I KNOW for sure the powertrains are gonna be awesome, and totally unlike ford...which means they'll be powerful
prepare to put it in your mouths and shuck it. shuck it long, and shuck it haard Trebek.
the new z28 is going to be able to take and mustang besides the shelby. the ss is going to ahve to have forrced induction to beat it which shelby has forrced induction. there putting the ls3 in z28 it has 430 hp and i think a lil over 400 ft pounds of trque.hope the ss is super charged cuuase if it is have WAY more cubic inches on shelby it should not have a problem
No initial power numbers yet but,
6.2L in the GT.
enough said.
GTR & ZR1 killer. I hope they ban it from running against NHRA funny cars. It would not be fair.
@frodo
You dont read the news much do you? The SS has the LS3 and L99. No z28 and no supercharger.
@AmericanMuscle
yes, it does. But his post is talking about how LS3 z28s are going to beat any mustang but the GT500, and the "supercharged" SS will be faster than a GT500.
and I agree, an LSA or some supercharged variant available in the SS would be sweet.
Im interested to see what it looks like and if the rumors are true about it getting the 5.0 over the shitty 4.6l they keep on using.
It would be nice if Ford could actually stand a chance against GM for once in performance.
422 horsepower with the six speed stick
412 with the automatic.
I would laugh my ass off if the next generation Mustang GT used a twin-turbo EcoBoost engine... of course, that would be a pretty interesting alternative to the 6.2L V8... maybe it should be called the Mustang SVO instead?
Seriously though. I would be scared if I were Chrysler or GM right now because they've already let loose all the steam they have. Ford always has the last laugh, remember that.
HEMI < SOHC
9 Million + Mustangs sold.
The original 5.0 (one of the best engines designs ever created in my opinion)
And of course... the Pinto. Sorry, but exploding cars do seem a bit humorous.
I can say I definitely love the competition right now though. It means better cars for all of us.
I;m sure ford will come out with 50 diffrerent types of Mustangs like they have with the current model.
eh, who cares
the mustangs dont look near as good as the new camaros
hell even the 02 t/a's look better
and you know what they say
if you aint lookin good
ya better be goin fast
i think thats ford's motto
xP
I'm pretty sure Ford's NOT gonna just let the new camaro walk all over its prized pony-car....EVEN though it has since....1972 ish.
Heres the deal.
Gonna look hot.
6.2L with over 400hp.
Gonna be a good match-up. finally.
Since when was vehicle performance based on HP output alone?
Stop bench racing, guys!
AmericanMuscle255 = the frodo of Ford. Case in point. Enough said. Shuck it Trabek, etc etc.
GS Jon said it best. I 2nd everything he said in that post.
@FloydSummerof68: sry, my bad.
hey! hahaha I gotta stay loyal ya know? I'm not gonna drive my mustang around and scream "oh how I wish I had a GM..." I just say that as I cry myslef to sleep...
A 400hp 6.2L would be a very bold move for Ford. I don't see that happening though. That's 100hp jump over the current GT. I can see 330-350 but I think anything over that would run the cost of the car too high for the GT. Although I think 400hp Mustang GT vs 430hp Camaro SS vs 425hp Challenger SRT8 would be great competition.
I just want to say...
I love my rare, briefly produced GTO!
Wooh!
No 183956820385483023455 different models!
Yeah right, why is Ford all of a sudden going to put a big displacement engine in the Mustang? Did they ever have anything over 5.0? Then they went back down to 4.6. Wouldn't the natural progression be to go higher? And now all of a sudden they are going to go from 4.6 to 6.2? That's quite a big jump for no apparent reason? Oh I know the reason, gas is cheap and Ford is selling the crap out of their SUVs/Trucks. You Ford fanbois keep dreaming you're getting a 6.2L in a base GT.
DOM ur right... i could see a 5.0 3 valve in a GT but i couldn't see a 5.0 DOHC.. that be against all the research they had with the 3 valve... now a 6.2L motor... Highly doubtful unless for finally got the idea that they have to go back to pushrod motors LOL
Ford will come out with the new mustang, get its ass beat by GM and then they will keep coming out with different sub models buily by specialty teams one after another until it can beat a FACTORY PRODUCTION GM!!! (I hate ford)
wouldnt matter to me what ford came out with...i cant afford it anyway
but with mustang being one of ford only real affordable sports cars ( the gt40 a little pricey)
i wouldnt see why ford wouldnt come out with a 6.2l motor being that mustang gt only comes with 320 hp from the factory while your gto, camaro, magnum, charger, corvette, all come with 400+
Hey Dom, back in the late 60s Ford had a few 420+ ci V8s. But who didn't? (Besides AMC.) And don't get me wrong, I actually like AMCs. I like domestic cars better than imports, but I'm a GM/Mopar guy more than a Ford guy, I'm just not big on most of their stuff post-73.
