CarTribe has procured a few shots and the initial details of the production Chevrolet Camaro ahead of its official unveiling this Monday. According to their report, the Camaro will come in LS, LT and SS trim, equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. Of course, that doesn't account for the very-obviously-marked RS car that is shown in the official photos, so who knows what the whole story is.
Engine choices include either a 296 hp, 3.6-liter V6 or a 416 hp 6.2-liter V8 which will feature cylinder deactivation to boost fuel economy. Underneath the retro sheetmetal is a full independent suspension and StabiliTrak traction control system. Four-pot Brembo brakes are mounted up front on the SS variant, and the 3,700-pound coupe will reportedly have a weight balance of 52/48, front/rear. The neuvo-retro theme is carried inside with a gauge cluster inspired by the 1969 model, along with leather seats and blue LED lighting.

Pictured is the V6 model, The SS is expected to have more (diff hood, stripes, etc....aka much more agreesive) even still the V6 model looks HOT.
Damn!! I want one! That thing is almost sleeker than the concept... I think I might have to get one. 
Rumor has it that this is UK-Release info so we can expect MUCH more come monday/tuesday for the official release from GM

wow looks so much better than every other pic posted of it. why rate it at 296, we all know its the same engine as the 306hp DI caddy motor.
I like the projector style headlamps. Hopefully they do not keep the z28 dead, and come out with a LSA version. 3700lbs is not that bad on the weight. I am still curious on the RS picture, and the specs they listed. I guess we will still have to wait a few days.

Those V6's have absolutely nothing at the bottom end. I drove one of the 306 bhp Caddy's and it was pretty quick top end, but in terms of bottom end, it wasn't much faster than my old 3.8L V6 Riviera, and that has almost 100 less horsepower.
The new 6.2L is cool too, but it'll probably into the mid $30K's to low $40K's. If an SS does come out, you can imagine the price will only go up from there.
In all, the Camaro is a good-looking car, but I still like the Challenger better.
@frodo: No. That's the Z28 model that will (possibly) have 500-ish hp.
Looks like they did a good job. I may have to go test drive one at some point once they come out.
Quiz for Frodo: The Z28 will supposedly have the engine that is currently in which other Chevy?
the z28 is axed, only the ss remains, the z was suppose to have 540 hp while the ss will have something like 420-430. Either way i like it.
I love the look. Like Captain_Partick I would love to sell both my camaros and buy a new one when it comes out.
