Gunny's Quick Bio
USMC Retired. Last duty was Powerline Chief with Marine Squadron VMFA-323 Death Rattlers at both MCAS Eltoro and MCAS Miramar, California.
Grew up on the drag strips of Southern California. When my brother and friends finally allowed me to hang out at the track with them, they weened me in the pits at Irwindale, OCIR, Lions, Pomona, Carlsbad, Famoso, and Riverside raceways. Those were some of the best childhood memories I have. I met and knew many of the pioneering legends in AA/FA Fuel Altered class. I also met many of the pioneer's in the Gasser, Funny Car and Top Fuel classes. It was the best time to grow up if you were into hot rods and drag racing.
Jump ahead. At the age of forty six, I still have the gearhead bug in my blood. And as I look back, that's probably from all the gasoline and chemicals I was subjected to as a tool & parts cleaner intern....
I can't thank those guys enough.
